Thematic area: empower those engaged in non-recognised professions with the necessary skills, attitudes, and knowledge to create an equitable society.
Rasanalisation:
Recognising unrecognised professions has the potential to unlock human capital, boost economic growth, foster social inclusion, and promote innovation, which are critical elements to sustainable national development. It also allows for the formal integration of diverse skill sets and knowledge bases into the national framework to develop country’s GDP, which can enhance resilience and adaptability in a rapidly changing global environment.
In pursuit of the aforementioned goal, the Sri Lanka Foundation plans to establish the Unit of Human Capital Development with the aim of enhancing productivity of ‘the national economy. We will achieve this by maintaining a balance between the global skill market demand and the supply of globally recognised skilled professionals.
To create the expected output SLF has aligned all strategies collaborating with the relevant Ministries, Departments, and other regulating institutions to enhance the quality of the output to match the global standards. This department intends to implement the targeted programmes such as Health & wellness professional programmes, establish professions globally demanded but locally non- recognised such as Masseurs, Personal Trainers, Caregivers and other non-recognised professions which are required to strengthen with the professional essence.
